Norman J. Houze, DC CHIROPRACTOR & CLINIC DIRECTOR Dr. Norman Houze began practicing in 1978 and opened Bloomington Chiropractic Center the following year. He earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from National
College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois, now called the National University of Health Sciences. NUHS is considered the world leader in chiropractic and natural health care education. Dr. Houze is still associated with NUHS as an adjunct faculty member training new doctors in clinical practice management.
Dr. Houze utilizes various chiropractic techniques including diversified techniques such as Cox Flexion-Distraction, Distraction, Spinal decompression, Applied Kinesiology, Gonstead, Activator, Cranial-sacral, Soft Tissue Release, and pierceless acupuncture. Dr. Houze's practice includes patients of all ages, infants to senior citizens as well as high performance athletes, many of whom are associated with Indiana
University.
Dr. Houze has helped pioneer the use of Functional
Medicine over 30-years. Today he has one of the clinics in Indiana utilizing this modern approach to individualized health care and quality
body composition. He has overseen the wellness power of natural health
care for thousands of patients with diversity of problems.
Dr. Houze is a proud member of the American
Chiropractic Association and the Indiana State Chiropractic
Association. He is married with to Cricket had has two daughters, Daphne and Alyssa. Dr. Norm continues to coach
Indiana University cycling teams who won the Little 500 in 2006 and
2007. He also coaches the local high school Solar Bike Team, several
teams of which have been national champions going on to race in Japan.
Still acting as the director of deCycles for
over 23 years, he continues this popular bicycling youth development
program challenging teens on high adventure cross-country
bicycle trips. He performs on the piano and synthesizer frequently at church occasions and weddings. There isn't a sport or song he doesn't love.
Jameson Russell, DC CHIROPRACTOR
Dr. Jameson Russell is a graduate from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. He received his undergraduate degree at Indiana University – Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science in 2006.
Dr. Russell is from Jasper, IN and attended Jasper
High School.
During his high school years, he was involved in sports including football and track. At 14 he was injured and treated successfully for a back injury by a local Chiropractor. He was very intrigued and interested in this field. As an upper class man in high school he participated in a special health careers exploratory class. After this experience, he decided that he would become a Chiropractor as his profession. At Indiana University,
he pursued studies to meet the Chiropractic prerequisites needed to attend Logan College of Chiropractic.
Dr. Russell
understands the importance of sports rehabilitation along with proper
nutrition and structural alignment in order to perform at the most
optimal level. His skills and techniques include Diversified Technique, Flexion-Distraction, Spinal Decompression, Motion Palpation, Post Isometric Relaxation (PIR) and Active Release Techniques (ART). He is trained in Active Rehabilitation for treatment of soft tissue and mechanical imbalances due to injuries and poor ergonomics of repetitive motion. He is a strong supporter of total body health with chiropractor care as a key component. He is currently taking new patients of all ages and conditions. He treats various stages of symptoms especially those of the everyday working person. He invites athletes and fitness buffs of all skill levels and all sports to make an appointment for evaluation and guidance for their ultimate enhanced performance.

Cricket Houze, B.S, M.A. LIFESTYLE and WELLNESS COACH
Cricket Houze is BCC's Wellness Coach. She is a graduate of Ball State University with
a BS in Education. Her Masters in Education and Reading is from Indiana University,
Bloomington. She is trained and certified through Diet Conscious Food Preparation and
Healthy Eating from the Hinsdale Hospital and Sanitarium, from Kushi Macrobiotics Institute, and from Jeffrey Woodward's The Healing Power of Food Program. Her current interest and focus is Weight Reduction, Juicing, and Raw Foods Diet as well as "Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type" diet and appropriate exercise programs.
As the clinic's Wellness Coach, she conducts individual consultations
regarding all phases of nutrition and food preparation
done in conjunction with the clinic doctor's individual
recommendations and goals. Healthy eating, "kitchen
makeovers", personal and family meal planning, meal preparation for the
chronically ill as well as healthy food choices, shopping, and food substitutions are all services provided by Cricket.
She has grown food for
her family since leaving her family farm in Auburn, Indiana. There most
everything eaten was grown at home. Her farming background provided
experiences in gardening, food preparation, canning, freezing,
sprouting, vegetarian and vegan dishes as well as creative cooking.
Cricket is a wife and mother of 2 two daughters. She enjoys a variety
of volunteer activities. She has ridden across America in 7 weeks and
continues to bike with deCycles a youth development program for over 25 years. She is also active in the Unity church. Cricket's main goal is to live a fulfilling and purposeful life while taking care of this planet and its family. She is a firm believer of "making this world a better place!" however she can.
Rebekah Taylor, CMT MASSAGE THERAPIST
Beka joined Bloomington Chiropractic Center's staff in 2018. She has over 12 years of experience treating many of the same patients she had when she first started. This speaks of her thorough deep tissue work as well as when needed, more light and relaxing techniques. She also gives pregnancy massages and focused head and upper back care. Her training and experience has prepared her for a variety of conditions and pain concerns. She enjoys the challenge of new patient conditions and is currently accepting patients here at BCC.
Beka's hours currently include four days a week 10:00 - 6:30. This makes our clinic and massage therapy accessible for all those working and even for those that work out of town with late hours. Call this clinic at (812)332-6427 and make an appointment. Massage times are 15 - 60 minutes. Let the clinic know if you have insurance you would like to use. Staff can check on your private coverage especially for massage therapy and even chiropractic care. The receptionist will schedule an appointment with one of the clinic doctors for an examination to assess your specific areas of need before you see the massage therapist.
Ron Masters, LCSW; ACCESS MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING
Ron Masters is in private practice at ACCESS Counseling. He specializes in trauma,
stress, losing someone to suicide, and anger counseling at Bloomington Chiropractic
Center as well as in Nashville, Indiana. With a strong focus on emotional health, he
brings over 15 years of coaching in mental wellness experience to this office.
He is a key component to BCC's comprehensive, Holistic approach to wellness in the
areas of emotional and mental health. Ron is certified in EMDR, a specific treatment for
trauma of all types and helpful with anxiety, fear, panic, PTSD or post traumatic stress
disorder, and phobias. He has developed the unique Phoenix Protocol, a multi approach
for stress relief.
Available for individual appointments both in person and by telehealth, sessions last one hour except for the initial consultation which is one and a half hours long. Adults and adolescents are accepted as clients with minors needing to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Ron and his wife Carolyn were both born and raised in
Bloomington. Raising a family and doing things together has always been
important to them. They have 2 lovely daughters and 4 grandchildren in
the Midwest. Ron enjoys special times with his wife, canoeing, and
playing tennis or being with their grandchildren. He is active in his church, Unity, where he leads Sunday
morning book study classes as well as shares his talent as a singer.
